Hans J. Wegner’s fascination with Picasso, specifically his Surrealism paintings of the 1930s was the inspiration for this sculptural chair and ottoman that he designed in 1960.

The Ox chair and ottoman were originally manufactured by AP Stolen of Denmark. Produced for only two short years, the chair was out-of-production in Europe for twenty-seven years. Subsequently in 1989, Erik Jørgensen’s Manufacturing of Denmark released the chair and ottoman into its product collection.
